Services For Transitioning Youth

An increasing number of students exiting Harford County Public Schools at age 21 have requested vocational services.

The Arc NCR’s Transition Coordinator works with the school system throughout the year, prior to graduation, to support students and their families in transitioning from school to work.

Information for Families

Parent Transition Guide
Walking The Bridge from School to The Adult World: A Transition Guide for Parents, is a planning tool to assist parents and their teen with developmental disabilities to prepare for adult life upon exiting school. This guide is offered to families within Harford and Cecil County Public Schools. As a result of this project we continue to work with our many partners, such as Harford and Cecil County Public Schools and Governments, to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

V-LINC’s What I Wish for My Child is an annual program designed to help realize the dreams of children with disabilities in Central Maryland. Families of these children know how difficult it can be when their sons or daughters cannot participate in the activities that other children can. Each spring, V-LINC takes requests from parents who have a wish for their child, ages 2-21.
