James has really enjoyed The Arc NCR’s Virtual Supports program during this second year of physical distancing. James participates in art class through Virtual Supports and has recently decided to pursue painting as a personal goal because of his experience in the class. The photo above is from one of the Virtual Supports art classes he attended earlier this year. James’ pursuit of painting exemplifies our vision of people leading personally valued lives, which is why James has been nominated as one of the 2021 Arc Angels.

The Arc NCR’s Virtual Supports program was developed to continue programs and services that would otherwise have been unavailable due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting need for physical distancing.

Virtual Supports are interactive sessions delivering real-time training and social interaction. Virtual Supports are offered as a tool for physical distancing, social connection, and skill development. Each session has ten participants and is led by a highly-skilled instructor who focuses on soft skills, independent living tasks, social engagement, and job readiness.

Congratulations to James on being our third Arc Angel for the 2021 Holiday Season!

The Arc NCR needs your support to continue empowering people to live, work and thrive in the community. Unfortunately, only a portion of The Arc NCR’s funding comes from the state and government. Your generous support is critically important to the success of our programs.
