The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region Raises Record-Breaking $133,000 at Gala
14th annual After d’Arc Gala featured a night of Bond and community generosity
ABERDEEN, Md. (April 11, 2018)—The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) announced today it netted more than $133,000 from its 14th annual After d’Arc Gala, “License to Give: A Night of Bond 007 Style” on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Maryland Golf & Country Clubs. With 400 attendees, the event was a sellout success – a fitting achievement for the nonprofit’s 65th anniversary year. All proceeds will support The Arc NCR’s services for people with differing abilities.
Attendees enjoyed a James Bond-themed evening complete with a casino, “magic bartender” and Bond movie soundtrack hits played live from “Chris Sengstacke and Friends,” classic martinis, a sumptuous dinner, a silent and live auction and dancing with music from The Klassix.
The Arc NCR’s annual “Fund the Need” campaign also raised record-breaking funds – far exceeding the organization’s goal of $25,000 for accessible housing needs, attendees generously donated more than $30,000, the campaign’s biggest success to-date. These funds will renovate The Arc NCR’s supported living homes to make them more accessible for the adults supported by the organization, including updates such as an accessible bathroom, kitchen and entrance/exit accommodations.
“We are deeply moved by the incredible continued support we receive from our community,” says Shawn Kros, CEO at The Arc NCR. “These funds will allow us to help even more people with differing abilities in need of support, and to continue to expand our housing capabilities.”
