The Ruth Miller Legacy Society

Ruth Miller

Ruth Miller is a founding member of The Arc NCR. In 1953, she worked with nine other families from Harford and Cecil Counties and started the organization, now known as The Arc NCR, in their basement. Mrs. Miller spent a lifetime advocating for the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Though Mrs. Miller passed away on February 8, 2021 at the age of 100, her legacy lives on and continues to inspire the next generation in empowering those with differing abilities to live, work and thrive in the community.

Consider becoming a member of the Ruth Miller Legacy Society. Membership is for individuals who have made planned gifts through various methods to secure the financial future of The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region. A planned gift carries on the mission started by Mrs. Miller and the other nine founding families, and ensures the organization’s future by providing long-term stability.
