Supplemental Services
LIVE. WORK. THRIVE.
Providing specialized support to people who are already receiving services through one of our primary programs. These services complement a person’s existing supports by addressing specific needs related to behavior, employment and benefits, or housing, helping people achieve greater independence, stability, and success in their everyday lives.
Behavioral Support Services
Helping people build skills, overcome challenges, and experience greater success in their daily lives.
Behavioral Support Services provide individualized support for people who may need assistance navigating behaviors, emotions, or situations that can impact their independence, relationships, and participation at home, at work, or in the community. Support is tailored to the person’s unique needs and focuses on understanding what may be contributing to a behavior, developing positive strategies, and helping the person and their support team create an environment where they can thrive.
Additional support may focus on:
- Identifying behavioral needs and understanding what may be contributing to them
- Using positive, trauma-informed approaches that recognize each person’s individual experiences, needs, and strengths
- Building coping, communication, emotional regulation, and daily living skills
- Supporting greater independence and meaningful participation in everyday life
- Helping families, caregivers, and support teams create consistent, supportive environments
Work Incentive Practitioner Services
Helping people understand how employment and earnings may affect their benefits.
Work Incentive Practitioner services help people receiving Employment Services better understand the relationship between working, earning income, and maintaining public benefits. This specialized support can help people we support make more informed decisions about employment and increased earnings while navigating benefit programs and available work incentives.
This fits particularly well alongside The Arc NCR’s Employment Services, which already provides job development, coaching, retention, and life-skills planning to help people obtain and maintain meaningful employment.
Additional support may include:
- Understanding how wages may affect public benefits
- Exploring available work incentives
- Reviewing the potential impact of increased hours or earnings
- Supporting informed decisions about employment and career growth
- Helping people better understand the connection between work, income, and benefits
Housing Support Services
Helping people navigate housing needs and maintain greater independence in the community.
Housing Support Services provide additional assistance to people who need help navigating housing-related needs. This supplemental service is designed to help people identify challenges, understand available housing resources, and work toward safe, stable, and appropriate housing that supports their independence and quality of life.
This complements The Arc NCR’s broader emphasis on accessible, affordable housing and personalized support that allows people to be as independent as possible in their communities.
Additional support may include:
- Identifying individual housing needs and goals
- Navigating available housing resources and options
- Addressing barriers that may affect housing stability
- Connecting people with appropriate housing-related resources
- Supporting planning for safe, stable, and accessible housing
Important Eligibility Note:
Supplemental Services are not stand-alone programs. They are available to eligible people who are already receiving services through one of The Arc NCR’s primary programs and are provided based on individual need.
